Many of our veterans try to mask the physical and mental pain by “self-medicating.” Some turn to drugs and alcohol in a desperate attempt to wipe out the intrusive memories of war, and escape the taxing reemergence to everyday life.

Drug and Alcohol Counselors are standing at the ready to offer on-line confidential counseling; on-line classes and seminars and private forums for those struggling with substance abuse.

In this 10-part weekly web-series, Ken explores the dark reality of drug and alcohol abuse and offers veteran-specific advice on how to beat addiction.  Post questions in the Courage to Combat Addiction Forum and Ken will answer them in future web-casts.

Ken Seeley has remained involved, professionally and personally, in recovery since 1987. Seeley's personal experience of addiction and recovery fuels his desire to impact others in similar situations. Ken grasps the full understanding of the addict’s behavior. His innate compassion for fellow addicts continually bolsters his ability to connect and communicate with addicts and their families. Seeley has applied his personal struggle with addiction to his devotion to help others in the throes of addiction. You can read Ken Seeley's full bio here.
